If you're like me and you don't have $1600 for an amp, you can still get ridiculous tone out of a simple Valveking.

The gain channel and that Tubescreamer seem to be the key. Going through the gain channel, not too much distortion on the processor, and no gain on the Tubescreamer, just using it as a booster, (it also has a bass boost that's on). The guitar is plugged in using a Real Tone USB Cable. The game requires an electric guitar or an acoustic guitar with a pickup. It's a pain in the ass, because if I want clean, I couldn't do this live without having to go through like 3 steps to get to the clean channel, but I don't play out live so I don't care. Special Hardware Required: One real Guitar, two Tone Cables (one comes with the game) and a Microphone Introduction: Rocksmith is the next evolution in guitar games. The Gain was just barely on enough to push the channel, and holy shit, it was amazing. Then I went to the gain channel on accident. I had a Zoom processor that was emulating an EVH type distortion, and a Visual Audio 808 Tubescreamer. Its kinda weird because the external worked just fine for the first Rocksmith, but hey, as long as its working.

I stumbled across it accidentally almost. Configuring the realtone cable, and just using the onboard sound instead of my external sound card worked for me. Since I've always been a budget gear-head, I've always been forced to use pedals, and it was common knowledge and practice that you only use distortion pedals on the clean channel. (I don't like completely emulated sound either like a Line 6).īut I have finally figured it out, I have managed to get Mesa-type tone out of this thing. I flat out can't afford a nice Mesa, Engl, or even a higher end Marshall, so the best I could swing was a Peavey ValveKing. I finally found the holy grail of tone I've been looking for for 20 years.
